Providing for residents for over 40 years, Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA) aims to help wherever there is need in the town and greater community of Madison County, Virginia. MESA is a privately funded and run organization that began in 1982 to provide for those in need in the county. Today, that passion for community still shines through at MESA. The neediest community members as well as any Madison County resident experiencing a life emergency or temporary crisis, has a place to turn.
Our assistance is primarily broken down into two areas: Financial and Food. Financial assistance is provided on an as needed, case-by-case basis and can include help with electric bills, rent/mortgage payments, fuel, medical/dental expenses, vehicle repair, and other life needs. Food and personal hygiene items can be provided through our food pantry.
MESA’s programs and services are provided by a small dedicated staff and passionate volunteers, funded exclusively through donations and grants. The generosity and participation of the community are what makes it possible for MESA to continue its mission.
MESA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, (including gender expression) sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from public assistance programs, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program of activity funded by USDA Rural Development.
