Hello, and welcome to MESA’s Volunteer Information Page. Here you will find details about the volunteer opportunities as well as the application form which can be downloaded and then either emailed to us or brought to us in person.
MESA is continually looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team. We have both daytime, evening and weekend hours available, although our greatest need is during the weekday. Whether you can volunteer for just a few hours once a week or are interested in several days a week, we are eager to talk with you and to share information about how the program works. We are looking for reliable, friendly individuals who are committed to our mission – being a resource for our Madison County neighbors in need. Whether this is through our Food Pantry or one of the several other services we offer, we rely on volunteers to help us succeed. This is where you come in.
Our greatest area of need is in the Food Pantry. Open several days a week, we need Greeters, Shoppers, Packers and Sorters to help us get the donated food onto the shelves, into the freezers, and out to the clients. Even on days we are not open to the public, we have food deliveries coming in daily that must be quickly and efficiently put away.
Since our food comes from several area food partners, pick-up of the donated food is required once a week, every week of the year. We are always in need of strong individuals with a truck or large SUV who can commit to weekly trips to one of our food partners to pick the food up and bring it to MESA. Without this critical volunteer role filled, we would find ourselves without any food to give out to our clients.
